More than two decades ago, in a small town in the hills of El Salvador, a young couple, Julio and Aleyda, shared a deep love for the traditional cuisine of their country. They grew up surrounded by aromas, enticing colors and authentic flavors that evoked memories of childhood and family. Julio, a passionate cook, spent hours in his mother's artisanal kitchen absorbing her culinary secrets and ancestral techniques. Aleyda, on the other hand, was known for her management and customer service skills and very skilled in the kitchen, also inherited from her family, Wanting to share the richness of Salvadoran cuisine with their community in the city of Columbus, Ohio, Julio and Aleyda decided to pull their talents and start a business together. With limited savings and a great deal of determination, they turned a modest location into the heart of Columbus Ohio's “Ranchero Kitchen”. The beginnings were humble, but with each carefully prepared pupusa, each plate of golden fried yuca, and each sip of piping hot slowly roasted hen soup "Ranchero Kitchen" began to gain a reputation for authenticity and exceptional flavor. As the restaurant grew in popularity, Julio and Aleyda found themselves facing challenges and sacrifices, from long work hours to financial difficulties. However, their passion for food and desire to preserve their country's culinary traditions kept them focused and determined. Over time, "Ranchero Kitchen" became a landmark in the city of Columbus, Ohio, for the community at large and beyond, attracting people from all over in search of an authentic Salvadoran gastronomic experience. Through the years, the restaurant has witnessed moments of joy, celebration and togetherness, becoming a beloved place in the community. Today, Julio and Aleyda look back with pride at the path they have taken, from their humble beginnings to the success of "Ranchero Kitchen." Although the business has grown and evolved, their commitment to quality, authenticity, and love for Salvadoran food remains the same as when they began this exciting adventure together.
First time here and food was delicious. I ordered pupusas and tacos and both were amazing. My sister ordered a beef and veggie soup and it was so good. The meat was nice and tender, flavor was ok.
Ordered take out while awaiting my little brother to finish his temp test and got chicken tacos, chicken papusas and fried chicken torta. I had to order 3 more papusas as I've never had them and the subtle corn flavor with the cheesy chicken inside was absolutely amazing.
Came here for the pupusas and they did not disappoint. Very friendly service and the restaurant was clean.
My first experience at Rancho Kitchen's food was tasteful, flavorful, and delicious. I've never had food from Salvador. It was really good with a Latin kick to it. All the staff were friendly. I will be returning to try other entrees.
Best Latin food in town and has been amazing every time we go back. Can get rather full, but has a large room and the short wait is completely worth it. Get the papusas if you can. They are Salvadorian tacos and just addictive!
